Membership Manager

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Membership is one of the flagship Individual Giving products at Diabetes UK. We have around 80,000 amazing members who are changing the future of diabetes by helping to fund our work, including research that we hope will one day lead to a cure. In return, we provide the latest information on diabetes from our team of specialist nurses, dietitians and other experts via our exclusive membership magazine, Balance, and online communications channels.

We have seen membership move from strength to strength over the last few years, and we believe that there is potential for us to continue growing and developing the product. You will help us achieve this by managing and improving the day-to-day membership experience; driving retention via engaging campaigns and improving processes to ensure they are all user-focussed.

Interviews: W/C 22 November (online)

Second stage interviews: 29 November (face to face at Wells Lawrence House, London)

Role Responsibility

You will lead on day-to-day supplier management, ensuring retention and engagement campaigns are executed efficiently, on-brand and within budget. Effective stewardship is very important to the membership programme so it’s essential that you have an eye for good design, can recognise good copywriting, and confidently brief an agency.

You will work with internal teams to ensure data integrity, and you will be the membership champion for the replacement CRM project. You will not have line management responsibility, but you will spend time supervising the work of the membership executive to make sure data is handled compliantly, and that everything we do is user-focussed.

The rest of your time will be spend supporting the Senior Membership Manager with strategy, budgets and development of the membership product to drive recruitment, retention and engagement.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have experience of working in an Individual Giving team and be able to demonstrate a solid track record in project managing inspiring campaigns which are evidence-based and data-driven. Ideally you will have experience in working on CRM, IT, or data projects. The ability to work cross-organisationally to meet deadlines and targets is essential, as are excellent communication and relationship building skills. You’ll be comfortable working to KPIs and will take pride in your work as well as enjoy being part of a team.
