Volunteer Support Officer - London

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

The Volunteer Support Officer is a key role within the small London Regional team as it provides support for all the volunteers and support groups in Greater London.

Volunteers are vital to help deliver what we need to do to increase public awareness about the prevention of type 2 diabetes and are a key part of the Living Well Outcome in our strategy to help inform those with diabetes about the services and support we offer.

During the pandemic our volunteers have continued to support others with on-line meetings and support, but our face-to-face meetings are now beginning to open up. Our support groups are a lifeline to some people living with diabetes.

Our volunteers come from the many different communities that make up London; some are students, some work closely with their local community organisations, all are passionate about making a different to those at risk of type 2 diabetes and those living with the condition.

Interviews: w/c 26/11/2021

Any face to face interviews will be taking place at the Wells Lawrence House - London

Role Responsibility

The key areas of activity are recruiting, training and ongoing administrative support of our volunteers. You would be organising events for volunteers as part of the role and with the easing of Covid restrictions meetings with volunteers will increasingly be face to face.

There will be some travel across Greater London and occasionally outside of London to meet with colleagues. There is some evening and occasional weekend working.
