Senior Volunteer Development Lead (12 Month FTC - Maternity Cover)
Job Introduction
The role of Senior Volunteer Development lead has become available for a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract. This exciting role is vital to the delivery of our charities “fighting diabetes with you” outcome driver. The role involves supervision of the North of England volunteer team, significantly the role is to develop maintain and grow our volunteers and supporters in line with our five-year strategy “a generation to end the harm”

Role Responsibility
To supervise and develop the North of England Volunteer team, in synergy with the rest of Team North, to creatively recruit and retain both new and existing volunteers and supporters looking for impactful partnership opportunities in line with our charity’s strategy. To oversee and develop all volunteer processes particularity safeguarding in line with Diabetes UK Charitable commission guidelines. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is essential
The Ideal Candidate
Will be able to demonstrate the ability to build and develop relationships and partnerships internally and externally, have project management skills, remain calm under pressure and have a good sense of balance conflicting priorities. The ideal candidate will be confident in working autonomously managing varying responsibilities, strong knowledge of Safeguarding policy’s and producers concerning children and vulnerable adults, the assurance to act as the safeguarding contact.
