Job Introduction
Trust and Statutory fundraising at Diabetes UK has grown significantly in recent years, driving forward huge advances in the quality of care and support that people with diabetes receive. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Trust and Statutory Manager to lead our fundraising from Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders. You would take on an established programme and a team with a diverse portfolio, including small trusts, statutory funding and restricted funding for our research, diabetes services and peer to peer support programmes across the UK. Role Responsibility
This ambitious individual will be responsible for a team bringing in income of circa £2m from a wider range of funders, supporting a wide range of work. You will build a strong pipeline of proposals and have experience delivering unrestricted and restricted income strategies, small trust fundraising, grant management, reporting and contract compliance. You will lead and manage your team, and proactively manage relationships with senior stakeholders, internally and externally. You will oversee budgeting and planning and share your expertise with the wider P&P team, supporting colleagues to secure and manage restricted funding at scale.
Brief overview of the key areas of work
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting strategic direction, leading, and managing your team to grow income from trusts, foundations and statutory funders year on year
- Ensuring best practice is followed in terms of grant management, contract compliance, bid development, project prioritisation, donor stewardship and impact reporting
- Working with other members of the Philanthropy and Partnerships Senior Management Team to track KPIs, build team capacity and support cross team working
- Managing a small portfolio of funders and acting as a point of escalation/support with other funders as required
- Working with colleagues to ensure a strong pipeline of prospects and projects exists to ensure sustained income growth
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role will have:
- A track record managing and building a high value and high-volume trust portfolio, with funders supporting a wide range of work
- Advanced understanding of Trust and Foundation fundraising and bid generation, funding cycles, reporting, contract compliance and planning
- Experience managing their own and others’ work with tight deadlines, multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities
- An innovative and decisive approach, with strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written
