Job Introduction
As we get ready to launch our ambitious new five year strategy, it’s an exciting time to be at Diabetes UK. Our marketing and communications teams are central to delivering our bold new plans and the Senior Marketing Manager will take a lead role in making our strategy a success. That’s why we’re looking for an exceptional individual to join us.
The Strategic Marketing team is responsible for developing a coherent approach to marketing across Diabetes UK that allows us to reach and engage more people living with, or at risk of diabetes. The team focuses on three key areas of work: marketing and communications planning, integrated marketing campaigns and supporter engagement strategies. The Senior Marketing Manager will lead the integrated marketing campaigns pillar of the Strategic Marketing team.

Role Responsibility
As Senior Marketing Manager you’ll lead a talented team of six, as well as taking the lead on planning high-profile, integrated marketing campaigns, delivering our new social media strategy, excellent email communications and digital marketing. With extensive experience of digital, audience-led and strategic marketing you’ll act as a leader in the organisation, often working alongside senior management and the executive team to deliver on high profile projects.
The Ideal Candidate
This is a senior role for a confident, strategic thinker with excellent skills in leadership, marketing and stakeholder management. You’ll have a strong marketing and communications background, rooted in digital – gained within an agency or in-house marketing environment. You’ll have significant experience in advising colleagues on measuring success, channel planning and efficient digital marketing. You will be highly skilled in social media (paid and organic) and will understand content strategies. You will be adept at building strong working relationships and will use your expertise to build credibility with colleagues and to strategically influence across the charity.
You’ll be passionate about making a difference to the lives of people living with diabetes and those at risk of developing this devastating condition, and committed to helping us make faster progress towards our vision of a world where diabetes can do no harm.
