Senior Knowledge and Insight Officer
Job Introduction
The Senior Knowledge and Insight Officer plays a crucial role in the policy team managing the data and insight function to provide insight and statistics about diabetes, NHS services and public health, to underpin evidence for campaigns and other influencing work.

Role Responsibility
This role involves overseeing the knowledge and insight function in the policy, campaigns and mobilisation team, including developing and commissions quantitative and qualitative research on diabetes care and insight from people with diabetes. They also provide expert advice on appropriate data collection methods, and research design to others for specific projects, to inform policy priorities and organisational activities. Also includes data collection and management; statistical analysis and interpretation of national and regional data related to diabetes care in the UK and overseeing a data enquiry and stats service. There is line management responsibility for a knowledge and insight officer.
The Ideal Candidate
The Ideal candidate for the role will be knowledgeable about, and interested in the NHS, public health and health services relating to people with long term conditions, such as diabetes. You will need to demonstrate an ability to generate insight and knowledge, and to communicate evidence and data effectively and in a timely way to a range of audiences. Ideally you will have MSc level social research methods and experience of applying quantitative and qualitative research methods and analytical skills in the health/charity environment.
Project management and line management skills would also be helpful. You should be able to work well with others and under your own initiative, sometimes to tight deadlines.
