Senior Information Governance Officer (Taking Care of Personal Data Project)

Job Introduction

As the Senior Information Governance Officer (Taking Care of Personal Data Project) at Diabetes UK, you’ll be responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Taking Care of Personal Data Project - Diabetes UK’s on-going data protection compliance project, including  compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act 2018 and other relevant legislation such as the e-Privacy regulations.

Role Responsibility

As the successful candidate for this role, you will work closely with other members of the Information Governance team to enable the effective use of personal data and corporate information across the charity.

You’ll assist in developing and implementing information governance policies and processes so that Diabetes UK can meet its legal obligations while achieving its charitable mission.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent understanding of data protection and privacy requirements
  • Practical experience of implementing information governance requirements, ideally in the public/not for profit sector, in a healthcare environment or in a direct marketing environment
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information governance concepts to non-technical colleagues
  • The ability to quickly build trust and relationships at different levels internally and externally
  • Strong organisational and time management skills and be proactive and self-motivated
  • A practical, risk-oriented approach and demonstrate good judgment
  • A passion for delivering results and providing great customer service
