Senior Brand Manager (Maternity Cover)

Job Introduction

That’s where our brand comes in - as Senior brand manager you’ll lead a a passionate team working to make sure our personality, identity and values shine through everything we say and do as a charity.  

You’ll be joining us as an exciting time. We’ve successfully refreshed our brand and recently launched our first ever brand advertising campaign, which is already bringing thousands living with this life-changing condition closer to our cause. We’re at a pivotal point in our mission to win the hearts and minds of millions across the UK.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior brand manager with a track record of excellence to lead the next stage of our brand evolution, covering a period of maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team, and a wide range of senior stakeholders across the charity, to build on our progress to date.

We have a brilliant and inclusive working environment here at Diabetes UK and are proud of our ‘Connected Working’ framework which allows great flexibility in the way that we work. This means that you can balance your working time between home and the office, subject to the needs of your role of course.  We do not dictate the number of days you have to attend the office.

Role Responsibility

As Senior brand manager you’ll act as our lead brand custodian, with oversight of our brand across all our products and communications and you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Head of Brand & Creative to shape the strategic and creative direction of the Diabetes UK brand.

You’ll plan and project manage successful roll-out of our brand strategy across the charity, manage development of communication projects and oversee the training, advice and consultancy we provide to upskill our colleagues and partners.

You’ll be responsible for leading the evaluation of our brand health, making strategic recommendations about how we grow our brand, and develop effective brand governance processes, tools and ways of working that will uphold and strengthen our brand.

You’ll play an active part in leading a skilled and enthusiastic Brand and Creative team and have two direct line reports to manage. You’ll work closely alongside peers in the Marcomms department to ensure our communications are as bold and impactful as possible.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll have relevant experience managing and developing brands and be confident in working across tone of voice, visual identity and personality communicating this clearly and powerfully to colleagues at all levels. And you’ll be an experienced and efficient project manager, who has led and delivered strategic brand projects, ideally in a charity setting.

You’ll enjoy working with people, making the most of opportunities to influence, negotiate and inspire a variety of stakeholders, showing how our brand can add value to their work. And you’ll be great at spotting opportunities to strengthen and optimise our brand.

You’ll be able to absorb new information quickly and prioritise your own and others’ work proficiently to help us deliver our objectives, managing competing demands calmly and skilfully, whilst responding nimbly to an ever-changing operating context.

You’ll be able to influence decision-makers across the charity and be adept at inspiring change through building strong relationships and establishing trust quickly, playing a key role in making change happen at Diabetes UK.
