Policy and Public Affairs Manager - Scotland

Job Introduction

We work alongside the diabetes community to raise awareness, make change happen and help people affected by diabetes live well and access better care.  

We’re expanding our Diabetes Scotland team and so it’s an incredibly exciting time to join us.

This means that you can balance your working time between home and the office, subject to the needs of your role of course.  We do not dictate the number of days you have to attend the office.

Role Responsibility

As Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will play a vital role in helping to improve outcomes for people living with, and at risk of, diabetes and keep diabetes at the top of the political and heath agenda.  You’ll do this through the development and delivery of our policy, influencing and campaigning work and supporting the National Director in external engagement.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have experience of working in a policy and public affairs role in a similar organisation and be able to demonstrate first class strategic thinking and planning skills.  You will be an excellent communicator and public speaker, skilled in analysis and interpretation of data, writing reports and able to convey complex information in a meaningful way to different audiences.  You will also have a good knowledge of relevant policy areas, excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, using your own initiative and as part of a team.
