Policy & Public Affairs Manager (Wales)
Job Introduction
We are seeking a Policy & Public Affairs Manager to join our charitable mission in Wales and support the wales team to drive improvements in diabetes care. This is a senior role to support the development of Diabetes UK’s policy positions and develop, design and deliver the charity's campaigns in Wales in collaboration with colleagues from across the UK.
The role will support the National Director to bring astute political influencing and engage positively with parliamentarians, Welsh Government ministers, senior leaders within the NHS and key decision makers and opinion formers in Wales.

Role Responsibility
As policy and public affairs manager, you will play a key role in interpreting the current political and healthcare environment in order that we may have greatest traction to improve diabetes care in Wales. You will collaborate with colleagues in Wales and across the UK ensuring alignment to our organisational priorities and that our campaigns and policy positions are fit for purpose in the context of the Wales systems.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role. You should be able to demonstrate evidence of developing previous policy positions and of influencing the policy development process of external agencies such as the NHS, Welsh Parliament. Building productive relationships and being able to communicate in a compelling way with a wide range of people, demonstrating strong personal credibility and excellent interpersonal skills are also essential to this role.
