National Diabetes Audit - Inpatient Clinical Lead (Fixed term until March 2026 initially)
Job Introduction
As clinical lead for the National Diabetes Audit inpatient workstream, you will play a pivotal role in transforming inpatient diabetes care in England and Wales. You’ll drive the inpatient audit workstream to create meaningful improvements in inpatient care for people with diabetes. This is a unique opportunity build on areas of strength with previous inpatient audits (NaDIA and NDISA) to create an audit that supports improvements in inpatient care for people with diabetes.
We are looking for a physician with specialist knowledge of inpatient diabetes who is a dynamic and collaborative individual with a deep understanding of healthcare systems and a passion for improving diabetes care. You bring previous experience of working at a senior level and the ability to critically appraise different data outputs. You are adept at communicating about data in a way that meets the needs of diverse stakeholders and will be comfortable with public speaking.
In this role, you will lead the development of a new national diabetes inpatient audit that supports the NHS in achieving better health outcomes for people with diabetes in hospital. You will work closely with clinical, analysis, policy and engagement colleagues to gather insights and shape the refreshed inpatient audit. As a strategic collaborator, you will build relationships with other professional bodies to develop partnerships that reduce the harms that can occur to inpatients with diabetes. Your leadership will ensure that the potential impact of the inpatient audit is maximised.
