Mobilisation Support Officer

Job Introduction

From influencing diabetes care to ensuring people living with diabetes get the right support at work and school, the Mobilisation team ensure the voices of people with diabetes are at the heart of our campaigns and that we provide opportunities for everyone to get involved.

The Support Officer (temporary) will support the Mobilisation Manager and wider team to deliver creative ways to engage and mobilise people living with and affected by diabetes in priority campaigns.

This is a 3 month Fixed Term Contract, we will also consider part time applications.

Role Responsibility

  • Process and analyse supporter data to support campaigns communications and reporting, in line with data protection guidance
  • Respond promptly to campaigns and mobilisation enquiries by phone, email and post
  • Provide administrative support to the team including managing bookings, logistics and volunteer expense requests for campaigns & mobilisation meetings, activities and events
  • Support the Mobilisation Manager and Campaigns & Mobilisation team in other activities as required.

The Ideal Candidate

The best person for this job will be able to:

  • Use a range of software including Excel and databases to collate and analyse data
  • Communicate confidently by phone and email
  • Work collaboratively to respond to enquiries and develop communications for our supporters and campaigners
  • Be flexible to respond to the capacity needs of the team and pick up new pieces of work quickly
  • Think creatively and seek opportunities to increase our impact.

The best person for this job will have experience in:

  • Providing administrative support to a busy team
  • Working with campaigners or volunteers, or in a customer-facing role

The best person for this job will be:

  • Educated to A-level or equivalent
  • Organised
  • Passionate about involving people in campaigning and influencing to bring about change
  • Keen to learn about NHS systems and structures, how they work in reality and the policy drivers that effect change
  • Willing to on occasion work flexibly and outside of normal office hours with travel to nations and regions.
