Job Introduction
The Diabetes UK Involvement and Healthcare Engagement team is a vibrant team which works to transform diabetes care and advocate for people affected by or at risk of diabetes. We know that healthcare professionals work tirelessly and incredibly hard and under challenging conditions. Supporting this group of people has never been more vital. As a Healthcare Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the team and Diabetes UK to support and engage healthcare professionals who are delivering essential care to people with diabetes. You and the team will work with extraordinary and hardworking individuals to help create a world where diabetes can do no harm.

Role Responsibility
As a Healthcare Engagement Officer, you will support the creation of a strong presence for healthcare professionals and build strong relationships with various professional groups.
You will be knowledgeable in the areas of engagement, marketing and communications. Part of your role will be to understand and review high-profile products and services which benefit healthcare professionals and thus supporting people living with diabetes. In addition to this, you will support our commitment to tackling health inequalities by identifying and sharing knowledge and good practice with healthcare professionals.
As Healthcare Engagement Officer you will be a great communicator, you will manage Diabetes UK’s presence at high profile conferences and events (physical and virtual), liaising internally and externally to book impactful and engaging speakers. You have an understanding for flexibility as these events may occasionally require working outside of normal working hours.
The Ideal Candidate
A key part of this role is providing clear and concise communications to a wide range of different professional groups. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills and the ability to building strong relationships based on trust, respect and honesty. You have experience of contributing to complex cross-organisational projects on time and within budget as well as utilising effective marketing techniques to reach as many individuals as possible.
As Healthcare Engagement Officer you will be a great motivator who is able to build community amongst the key stakeholders. You will thrive when managing several projects and workloads simultaneously. You will be confident in putting forward alternative approaches as well as being open to new suggestions and ideas from others.
