Healthcare Engagement Manager (Maternity Cover – until September 2022)

Job Introduction

The Diabetes UK Involvement and Healthcare Engagement team forms a vital part of our commitment to transform diabetes care and advocating for people affected or at risk of diabetes. The Healthcare Engagement Manager will play a key part in ensuring the engagement function of the team and Diabetes UK achieves this goal by effectively engaging with, be informed by, and influencing the many thousands of professionals who deliver care to people with diabetes. We work with extraordinary people in the NHS and supporting them has never been more important.

Role Responsibility

The Healthcare Engagement Manager leads on high quality communications processes, tools and channels, ensuring the delivery of relevant, targeted and high quality material maintaining Diabetes UK as a trusted source of information for HCPs.

You will build on our existing strong working relationships with networks of professional groups and look for opportunities to establish new relationships. 
The Healthcare Engagement Manager drives our clinical skills education strategy for HCPs, including the delivery of an online education platform to enable more people to get the quality of care they need to manage their diabetes well. 

You will lead the team to ensure Diabetes UK’s presence at high profile national HCP conferences and events, including virtual conferencing, liaising internally and externally to book high profile speaking slots.

The Ideal Candidate

A key part of this role is managing relationships with multiple stakeholders including external funders. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external senior audiences with fluency and confidence. You have experience of delivering complex cross-organisational projects on time and within budget.

As Healthcare Engagement manager you will be able to command respect and create a sense of community amongst the key stakeholders. You will thrive in complexity and uncertainty, being comfortable with challenging the status qu and suggesting alternative approaches as well as being open to new suggestions and ideas from others.
