Health System Engagement Lead, South East Coast and London

Job Introduction

We work with extraordinary people in the health system and supporting them has never been more important.  As Health System Engagement Lead for South East Coast and London, you’ll work closely with the Head of Region to take a strategic approach to improving outcomes for people with and at risk of diabetes. You’ll do this by working in an agile way: influencing, supporting, and working collaboratively with lead clinicians, senior level decision makers and key colleagues to improve diabetes care and help people in diabetes systems unlock their potential.

Role Responsibility

The Health System Engagement Lead will lead on identified workstreams to influence and support improvements in care with a key focus on reducing variation. 

• You will work in partnership, building senior level relationships to deliver against improvement plans and line manager two Health System Engagement Managers, focused on delivering in identified priority areas. 
• You will build, leverage and negotiate senior level relationships and partnerships based on collaboration, respect and shared goals.
• You will gather insights and intelligence to inform future delivery and demonstrate strong leadership to ensure improvements in delivery of care for people living with or at risk of diabetes.
• You will engage with and create opportunities to ensure the voice of people living with, and at risk of, diabetes informs our thinking and work both locally and nationally.
   

The Ideal Candidate

• Will have a highly developed strategic mindset and critical thinking skills to translate high level strategic priorities into clear and achievable objectives and workplans.
• Have deep experience of working with multiple health systems on senior level influencing, systems thinking and working in partnership to challenge the status quo and drive care improvement in local systems.
• Have experience of identifying practical steps and approaches to take in the face of complexity and uncertainty, and be able to demonstrate experience of using a powerful, common vision to energise and inspire colleagues and partners to work differently.
• Will be able to demonstrate proven experience of building and managing productive senior level relationships with fluency, confidence, and a high degree of personal credibility.
• A strong understanding and demonstrable experience of involving people with health conditions in healthcare improvement to our local systems work.
