Health System Engagement Lead – South East Coast and London
Job Introduction
As Health System Engagement Lead for south east coat and London, you join us at an exciting time as we expand our regional team and the scope of our regional work to more effectively reach out to, engage and support more people to live well with all types of diabetes, to prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes and ultimately to achieve our vision of a world where diabetes can do no harm.
We work with extraordinary people in the health system and supporting them has never been more important. You will work closely with our Regional Head, Engaging Communities and Volunteering Manager and Communications Manager as part of the south west and south central region’s senior management team, taking a strategic approach to improving outcomes for people with and at risk of diabetes. You’ll do this by working in an agile way: influencing, supporting, and working collaboratively with lead clinicians, senior level decision makers and key colleagues to improve diabetes care and help people in diabetes systems unlock their potential.

Role Responsibility
The Health System Engagement Lead will lead on identified workstreams to influence and support improvements in care with a key focus on reducing variation.
You will work in partnership, building senior level relationships to deliver against improvement plans and line manager two Health System Engagement Managers, focused on delivering in identified priority areas.
You will build, leverage and negotiate senior level relationships and partnerships based on collaboration, respect and shared goals.
You will gather insights and intelligence to inform future delivery and demonstrate strong leadership to ensure improvements in delivery of care for people living with or at risk of diabetes.
You will engage with and create opportunities to ensure the voice of people living with, and at risk of, diabetes informs our thinking and work both locally and nationally.
The Ideal Candidate
As Health Systems Engagement lead for south east and London you will have a highly developed strategic mindset and critical thinking skills to translate high level strategic priorities into clear and achievable objectives and workplans. You will be using your deep experience of working with multiple health systems on senior level influencing and systems thinking to challenge the status quo and drive care improvement in local systems. You will be working with systems and people to identify practical steps and approaches to take in the face of complexity and uncertainty, and be able to demonstrate experience of using a powerful, common vision to energise and inspire colleagues and partners to work differently. You will be building and managing productive senior level relationships using your personal credibility and confidence in doing so to establish productive working relationships. You will work alongside people from all walks of life to ensure the voice and experiences of people affected by diabetes is heard and listened to and contributes to improvements in service delivery and care.
