Head of Care

Job Introduction

Right across the UK we campaign to fight diabetes, and support the NHS, people living with diabetes and health professionals to work together to help improve diabetes care and outcomes for people living with and at risk of diabetes. As Head of Care you’ll lead a talented team to support the charity in bringing about positive change so that diabetes can do no harm. 

We have a brilliant and inclusive working environment here at Diabetes UK and are proud of our ‘Connected Working’ framework which allows great flexibility in the way that we work. This means that you can balance your working time between home and the office, subject to the needs of your role of course.  We do not dictate the number of days you have to attend the office.

Role Responsibility

You will be a central part of the Diabetes UK leadership community, providing direction and leading work to develop knowledge and understanding about diabetes care and prevention across the charity. You will be responsible for ensuring that Diabetes UK remains a credible and trusted organisation, providing expert diabetes advice and support to the wider organisation to achieve our strategic outcomes and improve the lives of people affected by diabetes. 
 
This is a busy and varied role, working with a diverse range of leaders, teams and partners to influence, spread good practice and drive change that benefits people affected by diabetes. You will be a key ambassador, leading a talented and diverse team to translate good practice into other team plans. A key part of the role will be building strong relationships with colleagues and healthcare professionals to assure accurate messaging which has the voice of those affected by diabetes at its heart.
 

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an exceptional and inspirational leader, with a passion for diabetes knowledge and using it to connect with others to improve diabetes care.  The successful candidate will be a registered healthcare professional, with experience of working in diabetes care. You will have experience of working across multiple teams, supporting and supervising team members. You will be organised, pay close attention to detail and have the ability to work under your own initiative. Your strong communication skills will enable you to collaborate with others to inform, advise and enable others to improve care standards.
