Central to this strategy is the Fundraising Projects Officer, a new role within the Community and Events Team designed to drive innovation and efficiency across all of our fundraising activities. 

This role will support and deliver cross-team projects that focus on enhancing our supporter experience, meeting donor demands and maximising lifetime value. It is a varied and exciting role that will work collaboratively with the team to lead targeted projects that benefit the entire portfolio. 

The projects this role will deliver aim to boost average gifts, improve conversion rates and enhance supporter retention across our activities.

Role Responsibility

As the Fundraising Projects Officer at Diabetes UK, you'll play a pivotal role in driving income growth and efficiency through coordinating and delivering cross-team projects within the Community & Events Team. 

Your responsibilities will span various fundraising activities, including virtual and in-person mass participation events, as well as supporting Third Party and Community Fundraising initiatives. You’ll lead projects aimed at improving supporter experience, meeting supporter demands, and enhancing activation, average gift, and lifetime value metrics. 

This varied role will involve working with event managers to develop engaging supporter journeys and ensuring projects stay on schedule and within scope. Your data-driven approach will inform project evaluations and recommendations, contributing to continuous optimisation and innovation across fundraising activities. 

Additionally, you'll offer stewardship and fundraising support to participants, share sector insights and best practices, and liaise with key external stakeholders to ensure an unparalleled supporter experience from acquisition to stewardship. 
 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, able to juggle multiple priorities whilst ensuring effective planning and communication. They will be experienced in project delivery - preferably in the fundraising sector - able to build project plans, meet deadlines and manage expectations. 

Their solution-focussed and proactive attitude will contribute to the team’s success, as they actively share knowledge and learning to enhance the overall fundraising portfolio. 
With excellent communication skills, they will create engaging experiences for our supporters. They’ll also have strong collaboration skills, working with others to deliver tangible results and build positive relationships internally and externally.
