Data Strategy Lead (Maternity Cover)
Job Introduction
Our new CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and data hub infrastructure are set to go live in April 2024, with strong technical direction already in place alongside change management and other key workstreams. This role provides leadership and direction across the several projects defined within the Better Data Programme. The post holder will lead the delivery of the goals of the Data Strategy, collaborating with colleagues to ensure the investment in aligned to achieving the impact we wish to deliver. The role will also provide strategic input from a data perspective into our broader thinking on generating income, engagement and impact for people at risk of or affected by diabetes.

Role Responsibility
You will lead the delivery of our Data Strategy to enhance the ability of Diabetes UK to realise its strategic outcomes. For example, to work with colleagues to drive insight and better decision making or, through our strategic marketing approach, to engage better with our beneficiaries and supporters. Through understanding the wider context of our operating model you’ll also contribute to our thinking on how we can evolve ways of working to drive maturity in our data capabilities. You will work with senior colleagues to generate options and priority areas for change and support teams to adopt any new ways of working. You’ll also lead the implementation of our new technology ensuring risks are managed, benefits realised and effective change management in place.
The Ideal Candidate
Summary of skills, knowledge, behaviours and experience we’re looking for –
- Extremely strong understanding of how data as an asset can assist in meeting strategic goals, ideally in a fundraising charity.
- A strong communicator able to influence at all levels in an organisation.
- Ability to work in a matrix fashion with other technology and non-technical leaders.
- Experience in delivering complex technology-based transformation programme, including an understanding of programme management techniques.
- Sufficient understanding of the technical aspects of the data lifecycle to ensure that this is aligned with strategic ambitions.
