Data Manager (6 Months FTC)

Job Introduction

We are seeking a Data Manager to join our Better Data Programme on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role is integral to our strategies for data governance and operational excellence, ensuring the management of our new data hub, CRM, and reporting tools. As a key member of the Corporate Services Directorate, you will manage our efforts to embed DataOps practices within the organisation, establishing a future-proof framework that enables the strategic use of data in enhancing our operational decisions and overall performance.

Role Responsibility

As Data Manager, you will assess our current data management capabilities and help design an optimised DataOps state post-launch. Your primary responsibilities include analysing current data management practices, defining requirements for future state, and develop a DataOps roadmap, implementing this practice across the organisation, championing data integrity and compliance. You'll play a crucial role in fostering a data-driven culture, facilitating data literacy workshops, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align our data management practices with organisational goals.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will possess a blend of engagement skills and technical expertise, capable of consulting on complex data management projects from start to finish. You'll have proven experience in implementing DataOps or similar frameworks, working with CRM systems and data hubs, especially within a non-profit context. Your analytical and communication skills will enable you to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, promoting data literacy and driving the adoption of new data practices. Knowledge of data privacy laws, governance, and current data management trends is essential. A formal qualification in Data Management is preferable, alongside excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships across technical and business teams.
