Data Insight Analyst

Job Introduction

At Diabetes UK, we know that becoming a more proactive, data-driven organisation is essential to achieving our ambitious goals. To support this, we’ve launched a new CRM -marking a major milestone in our transformation journey.

This is an exciting time to join our newly formed Data & Insight Team, which is central to embedding data-led decision-making across the charity. As we begin to harness the capabilities of our new systems, this role is vital in helping teams understand and navigate the updated data structures, and in turning data into actionable insight.

As a skilled Insight Analyst, you’ll work closely with stakeholders from initial briefing through to delivering evidence-based recommendations—driving a culture where decisions are powered by data. With a primary focus on engagement and fundraising activities, your work will help us maximize our reach, deepen supporter relationships, and accelerate progress towards our mission.

Role Description

You will deliver high-quality analysis, insights, and reporting to help teams understand performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement. With our new data architecture now live, you’ll play a key role in helping colleagues navigate and make the most of our updated systems and structures.

Your responsibilities will include producing clear, actionable insights that explain what is happening, uncover emerging trends, and explore the drivers of change. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions—whether that’s through Excel-based analysis, regression modelling, data visualisation, or automated Power BI dashboards.

You’ll use SQL to query databases for extracting, validating, and transforming data. Your role will support stakeholders by making complex data accessible and actionable, enabling deeper insights and informed decision-making.

Beyond delivering insights, you’ll support teams in interpreting the findings and guide them on the actions needed to improve outcomes. Your work will help embed a culture of evidence-based decision-making across the organisation.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will be naturally curious and motivated to help others use data to inform decisions. You’ll have a passion for exploring data, asking the right questions, and turning complex information into meaningful insight. You’ll be confident in constructively challenging assumptions, focusing on what the data reveals. Your strong analytical, technical, and communication skills will enable you to collaborate effectively across teams—helping to drive increased income and impact.

With more people than ever living with diabetes and millions more at risk of developing type 2, our work has never been more needed. We make sure they get the care and support needed to live well with diabetes and avoid devastating complications.

We fund critical research, which has led to life-changing discoveries – like the first insulin pen and programmes to put type 2 diabetes into remission. Now, we want to do this for everyone and find a cure.

We can’t do any of this without you. Our staff are passionate and determined about helping everyone affected by diabetes. For over 85 years, they’ve been behind vital policy changes, as well as new treatments and technologies to make living with diabetes easier every day.

But there’s more to do. And you can be part of it. Our vision is a world where diabetes can do no harm. Join us today, and together, we can make that a reality.
