Job Introduction

The Diabetes UK Professional Conference is our flagship annual conference for the education of around 3000 healthcare professionals. In addition to other UK events, the Conference team is responsible for the delivery of the professional conference at a high and award-winning standard. The role of the Conference Organiser is to work with our programme committee to develop a complex conference programme in line with key progress dates. To achieve this, you will liaise with a range of high- profile speakers to ensure the programme retains its quality reputation of outstanding content to meet the needs of our conference audience.

Role Responsibility

The Conference Organiser will act as the primary contact for our organising committee and conference speakers/VIPs to ensure smooth completion and delivery of the conference programme. You will be required to work across the Conference team, as well as with external suppliers, to ensure that components are met and at a high standard. With an opportunity to support the development of the conference and be involved in selecting appropriate suppliers, the role offers an opportunity to influence elements of the conference to ensure it continually evolves and meet changing needs. This post also works closely with our marketing team to establish and deliver the marketing plan. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale healthcare conference that is award winning and respected in the association/not for profit conference sector.

The Ideal Candidate

As our Conference Organiser, you will be meticulous in attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to track delivery progress across a complex conference programme and other projects surrounding the conference. You will have an acute sense of deadlines and communicate this clearly to all stakeholders to ensure all are able to respect and meet these accordingly. Experience working on large-scale events, particularly with committees and speakers would be advantageous as would be knowledge of conference registration systems and/or online conferencing.
