Conference Coordinator

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

The Diabetes UK Professional Conference is our flagship annual conference for the education of around 3000 healthcare professionals. In addition to other UK events, the Conference team is responsible for the delivery of the professional conference at a high and award-winning standard. The role of the Conference Coordinator is to support delegate registration and associated delegate services. You will be working with a range of systems and platforms to efficiently manage registration including queries via the conferences mailbox, website updates and working on financial processes. The role will require administrative and event work to support the wider team as well as evolving the delegate experience including social functions and accommodation options. To achieve this, you will need strong communication skills liaising with a range of delegates including healthcare professionals as well as working with key suppliers and venues.

We have a friendly and inclusive working environment here at Diabetes UK and are proud of our ‘Connected Working’ framework which allows great flexibility in the way that we work. This means that you can balance your working time between home and the office, subject to the needs of your role of course. We do not dictate the number of days you have to attend the office.

Role Responsibility

The Conference Coordinator will act as the primary contact for our delegates and will require overarching knowledge of registration options as well as sound overall knowledge of the conference to provide excellent customer service. You will be required to work across the Conference team, as well as with external suppliers, to ensure that components are met and at a high standard. You will have an opportunity to support the development of delegate services at our conferences including selecting appropriate suppliers/social event venues. The role offers an opportunity to influence process elements of the conference to ensure it continually evolves and meet changing needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale healthcare conference that is award winning and respected in the association/not for profit conference sector.

The Ideal Candidate

As our Conference Coordinator, you will be meticulous in attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to manage a busy workload particularly with registration and other projects surrounding the conference. You will have an acute sense of deadlines and will need to work with others to ensure all are able to respect and meet these accordingly. Experience working on large-scale events, particularly with delegates and registrations would be advantageous as would be knowledge of conference registration systems and/or online conferencing. We look forward to welcoming a team player to the conference team as we continue to provide a range of conferences.
