Commercial Digital Opportunities Lead

Job Introduction

Digital is at the centre of our work and crucial to us realising our ambitious strategy but technology is also central to the way that many people manage their diabetes.  We are  expanding our offering in this area by setting up an income generating business unit aimed at supporting tech start-ups better understand the needs of people with diabetes.   The post holder will be a visionary leader and head up the business unit and develop the infrastructure necessary to begin to generate income in 2020. 

The contract is for 6 months and over this period the post holder will recruit the team, start testing ideas with the market and work alongside colleagues to ensure we can quickly scale up the operation in 2020. Key aspects of the role will include product development support, Running diabetes technology events and setting up a network of diabetes specialist to support start-up founders.

Role Responsibility

The Commercial Digital Opportunities Lead will own and drive the overall vision. They will be responsible for marketing and promotion and the development and maintenance of the business plan. They will build and lead a tea, and be responsible for the product development support, events and marketplace work streams.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, will be driven and solutions focused. They will have excellent interpersonal skill and the ability to work with and influence others. Additionally, they will be passionate about digital health and its possibilities, and able to demonstrate problems solving skills in a methodical and organised manner.
