Together Type 1 Support Officer (18 months fixed term contract - part time)
Job Introduction
The Together Type 1 Support Officer role is a key role for Diabetes Uk’s Together Type 1 Programme. We delighted to be entering our fourth year of the 5 year youth programme (11-25 years) delivering a diverse range of in-person and on-line activities designed to support young people living with Type 1 diabetes. TT1 is a UK wide dynamic programme which is delivered and supported by 7 local youth teams . We are building a strong community of young leaders who offer peer support and connect with other young people living with type1 diabetes taking their knowledge and their lived experience to drive positive change in diabetes care as well as raise awareness about Type 1. This essential administrative role will provide day to day support to the central and local teams and enhance our impact and reach through pro-active campaigns, social media and on-line content.
This role forms part of a central team supporting Diabetes UK’s Together Type 1 Programme (an externally funded 5 year Youth Programme).
Role description:
Reporting to the Head of Type 1 Services you will work alongside the TT1 Programme Manager, Communications Manager and Peer Support Manager to understand and deliver on the programmes key priorities. In addition to providing direct support to the central team you will collaborate with Youth Teams across Nations and Regions to co-ordinate activities, plan and schedule meetings and workshops. The post holder will help co-ordinate core operations, including managing shared email accounts, organising and planning a variety of governance structured meetings. The post holder will also assist the Communications manager in creating and scheduling social media content and being act as a point of contact for regional youth teams supporting their planning, delivery and on-line activity.
This pivotal role involves working with wider delivery teams to ensure effective co-ordination across all the programmes functions and updates. As TT1 Support Officer you will oversee and manage a range of programme processes and procedures, maintaining high standards of governance, safety and compliance.
The ideal candidate:
As TT1 Support Officer you will have experience in administrative tasks, systems and processes and will have developed strong communication skills to confidently communicate across a wide varied and dispersed delivery team. You will also communicate effectively with both internal and external key stakeholders working to build strong relationships with members of the delivery team and our TT1 partners.
You’ll have the ability to plan and be effective in how you prioritise against competing demands. You will be familiar with Microsoft packages and have knowledge of social media content, understanding the challenges around safety related to social media and digital platforms.
As TT1 Support Officer you will be able to provide an excellent customer experience to the general public, our partners and work with both central and local teams to develop and implement a range of processes to support smooth and effective delivery of the programme.
